Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and this April will mark the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights leader’s assassination.
In observance of the holiday Monday many offices will be closed. Washington, Mid-Prairie, and Highland School Districts will not be holding classes. The U.S. Postal Service will not be delivering mail and post offices will be closed. Also, banks will be closed for the day.
The King Center encourages people to perform 50 acts of kindness or service between the National Holiday and April 4th.
