Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and many offices are observing the holiday.

The U.S. Postal Service is not delivering mail and post offices are closed, as are many government offices. Banks are also closed today. The Washington, Mid-Prairie, and Highland school districts are not holding classes. The King Center encourages people to perform 50 acts of kindness or service between the National Holiday and April 4th. This April will mark the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights leader’s death.
