In the first game back from break on Tuesday the Winfield-Mt. Union teams fell to Mediapolis on their home court.

In the girls’ game, the undefeated Bullettes rode a huge second quarter to capture a 65-37 win. It was 12-9 in favor of Mediapolis after the first, when they exploded for 31 points in the second to take a 43-20 lead into the break. Both teams traded blows in the second half and the Bullettes captured the 28-point win. Allie McArtor was a bright spot for the Wolves with a team-high 11 points on four of seven shooting. She also hauled in a monstrous 16 boards on the day. Lexee Hartsock added nine points and 10 rebounds. With the loss WMU falls to 5-6 on the year, as the Bullettes move to 9-0.

In the boys game the Wolves hung tough but came out on the losing end by a final score of 56-52. In the first half it was all Wolves, as they led 18-8 after the first quarter and 35-22 heading into the break. The difference came in the fourth quarter when Mediapolis outscored the Wolves 21-6 to capture the road victory. BJ Rodgers had a big day for the Wolves with 19 points and Cody McCreight added 10. With the loss WMU falls to 1-9 on the year and the Bulldogs improve to 2-6.

The Wolves will get back at it Friday traveling to Lone Tree.
