Mid-Prairie On the Mat For Conference Action

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk wrestling team resumes their River Valley Conference schedule tonight when they travel to Wilton for a quadrangular.

The Hawks were last in action Saturday at the Gary Curtis Invitational at Highland. Top finishes for Mid-Prairie came from Isaac Boucher at 3rd place at 220lbs and Colton Allen fifth at 195lbs. The Golden Hawks have a 9-8 overall dual record on the season.

Joining Mid-Prairie at Wilton tonight are the Durant Wildcats. Durant enters action winless on the dual season with just three wrestlers listed on their active roster. Mid-Prairie beat Durant 42-10 earlier in the season.

Tipton will also be at Wilton tonight. The Tigers are 11-2 on the dual season. They were seventh of 12 teams at the Rollin Dyer Invitational over the weekend in Atlantic. The Tigers beat the Hawks earlier this season on criteria.

Wilton is the fourth team at tonight’s event. The Beavers stand at 22-3 on the year. They won four of five duals last week at the Maquoketa Valley tournament. The Beavers have two ranked wrestlers in their lineup according to thepredicament.com. Cory Anderson is ranked eighth at 138lbs and Trey Brisker No. 1 at 152lbs.

Action begins tonight at 5:30 at Wilton High School.
