Despite recent warm temperatures, including the thermometer rising above 50 degrees this week, temperatures overall for January in Washington are below normal.

According to the National Weather Service, the normal average temperature is 20.8 degrees and this year it has been 15.4 degrees. Snowfall has also been below the normal 4.6 inch mark at 2.2 inches this month, with a max depth of 5.0 inches.
