Saturday was a busy day in Wayland as WACO hosted the 2018 Warrior Invitational.

Top area finish at the event went to the WACO Warriors who took fifth of 14 teams in their home tournament with 107 points. East Buchanan won the meet with 197.5 points. The Warriors had two champions on the day with Jaden Williams bringing home the title at 126lbs with an 8-5 win over Mitchell Moore of Wapello.

WACO’s Cody Crawford was a winner at 285lbs over Drake Fox of West Burlington Notre Dame Danville 2-1 in tie-breaking overtime.

Other top finishes for the Warriors included Jalen Collins as runner up at 120lbs and Robert Frazier third at 132lbs.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks had a solid day taking sixth of 14 teams with a score of 99.5 points. Top finishers for Mid-Prairie included Isaac Boucher as runner up at 220lbs, Eli Steckly third at 126lbs and Colton Allen third at 182lbs.

Lone Tree finished 14th with 34 team points. Top finishers for the Lions included Bryce Thompson at 106lbs and Aaron Slaughter at 113lbs both finishing in third place.
