WACO Wrestling Host Tournament Saturday

It’s a wrestling filled day in Wayland when the Warriors host a 13-team tournament with area schools of Mid-Prairie and Lone Tree attending.

The Warriors were last in action Saturday at Van Buren where they placed fourth at the invitational. WACO had two champions on the day including Jaden Williams at 126 lbs to push his record to 22-6 on the season. The other champion was Cody Crawford at 285 lbs. The senior is ranked seventh in the latest predicament rankings for class 1A and has built up a 23-2 record on the year.

Mid-Prairie was last on the mat Saturday at Highland for the Gary Curtis Invitational. Isaac Boucher had a productive day at 220 lbs placing third and Colton Allen was fifth at 195 lbs. Boucher leads the Golden Hawks on the season with a 21-9 record and Allen is 18-7.

Lone Tree traveled to HLV on Tuesday and came out victorious in one of three duals. Bryce Thompson has taken care of business at 106 lbs with a 20-7 record including winning a pair of matches on Tuesday. Aaron Slaughter is a tough out at 120 lbs with a 19-6 record on the season.

The action gets started at 10 a.m. this morning at WACO High School.
