On Saturday the Washington wrestling team traveled to Solon for the Ed Hadenfeldt Invitational.

The Demons placed seventh out of 13 teams with a score of 97 points. Lisbon took home the title with 211 points. Tristin Westphal-Edwards headlined the day for Washington with a first place finish at 170 lbs. The junior won both of his matches by a fall in 1:28 and a 7-2 decision in the championship round over Lisbon’s Bryce Werderman. The Demons had two wrestlers place third including Logan Escher and Tanner Murphy. Escher went 3-1 at 195 lbs winning all three of his matches by fall in a combined 6:18. Murphy also went 3-1 at 220 lbs by having two falls and a 3-0 decision in the third place match. Other top finishes include Dillan Sanders fourth at 132 lbs, David Hora fifth at 145 lbs, and Kiowa Keith fifth at 152 lbs.

The Demons will next be on the mat Saturday traveling to East Marshall.
