The Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves travel to Columbus tonight to battle the Wildcats in a Superconference doubleheader featuring KCII listening area teams.

In the girls contest, WMU is 7-8 coming into tonight. In their last game they were beaten by Highland 53-47. Lexee Hartsock led the way with 20 points. On the year the Wolves are led by Hartsock scoring 14 points per game, sixth best in the Superconference. Karley Schlee has 36 assists, best on the team, eighth in the Superconference. Allie McCartor leads the Wolves and is second in the conference with 132 rebounds.

Columbus is 2-11 coming into tonight. Last time out the Wildcats fell to Burlington, Notre Dame 53-23. Anna Hamilton and Vanessa Cuellar led Columbus with five points each. Hamilton leads the Wildcats on the year scoring seven points per game. Janessa Carpenter has a team best 11 assists. Maki Mendenhall has pulled down a team best 76 rebounds. The Wolves won the first game between these schools 36-21.

In the boys game, Winfield-Mt. Union enters with an overall record of 1-13. The Wolves were beaten by Highland 84-47 Friday. Cody McCreight and BJ Rodgers led WMU with 13 points each. Rodgers leads the Wolves scoring 14 points per game. He also has the team lead and is sixth in the Superconference with 43 assists. McCreight is best on the team with 65 rebounds.

Columbus enters tonight’s game winless on the season after falling to Burlington Notre Dame Friday 69-39. Chepo Cardenas led the way with 14 points. Tommy Pretz leads the Wildcats and is seventh in the Superconference scoring 14 points per game. He’s also best on the team and third in the league with 104 rebounds. Cardenas has 39 assists, seventh most in the Superconference. WMU took the first game between these two 42-33.

Action begins tonight at 6p.m. at Columbus High School.
