Several individuals across the KCII listening area qualified for state after placing in the top two for their district meet on Saturday.

Sigourney-Keota had two of three wrestlers advance out of their district in Pleasantville. Mason Dye took home first place at 106 lbs by winning both of his matches by fall in a combined 3:24. Kaleb Reeves will also return to state finishing first at 220 lbs by a pair of falls in a combined 6:32. Nick Ives competed at 138 lbs finishing fourth.

Highland, Lone Tree, and WACO competed at Wilton and each team had one wrestler advance. Highland’s Brady Hahn advanced by placing second at 145 lbs. He won his first match by a 4-2 decision and lost the second match but he did not have to wrestle back and finished second. Other Huskie finishes include Caedon Harbison fourth at 120 lbs, Geoff Streb fourth at 132 lbs, Cory Stewart third at 138 lbs, and Dan Burton fourth at 160 lbs.

Lone Tree had Aaron Slaughter qualify at 113 lbs placing first. He made quick work on the day winning both of his matches by fall in a combined 1:48. Bryce Thompson finished fourth at 106 lbs.

WACO’s lone competing wrestler Cody Crawford advanced placing first at 285 lbs. He won both matches by fall in a combined 2:20.

Qualifying wrestlers will compete at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on Thursday.
