The Sigourney-Keota Cobra wrestling team opens the postseason today when they travel to English Valleys for the class 1A sectional tournament.

SK comes into the meet off of a runner up finish at the South Iowa Cedar League Championship meet last Saturday with 131 points. The Cobras crowned a pair of champions with Mason Dye at 106lbs and Kaleb Reeves at 220lbs. During the dual season the Cobras finished with a 17-13 record. SK has two ranked wrestlers in their lineup according to thepredicament.com. Dye is No. 9 in class 1A at 106lbs and Kaleb Reeves is No. 2 at 220lbs.

SK will be joined at today’s tournament by BGM, English Valleys, HLV, Iowa Valley, Montezuma and Pekin. The top two finishers in each weight class will advance to districts next Saturday.

Action begins at noon and continues all day at English Valleys High School.
