The Winfield-Mt. Union boys basketball team wrapped up their season Tuesday night in the opening round of the class 1A boys district tournament falling to Holy Trinity Catholic 60-50.

Holy Trinity held a slim 13-11 lead after one quarter and went on a 14-8 run that lasted the entire second frame to take a 27-19 lead into the break. In the second half the Crusaders stretched their lead to double digits and were able to hold off a push from the Wolves in the fourth quarter. WMU was led on the night by Cody McCreight with 15 points, BJ Rodgers and Daunte Oepping each had 13. With the loss the Wolves end their season at 3-19 and will say good bye to seniors McCreight, Rodgers, Mitchell Niebuhr, and Tristan Kauffman.
