The Washington High School archery team traveled to Mount Vernon over the weekend to compete in bullseye and 3D competitions.

The Demons placed second in the bullseye competition with a team score of 3339. Samantha Mellinger led the way with a 290 and 21 bullseyes to rank third out of 128 high school girls. Griffin Wood posted a 283 with 16 bullseyes to finish seventh out of 122 high school boys. Other top scores included Braeden Duwa with 282, Anna Miller with 281, Maggie Morgan with 280, Alexis Ide with 279, and Johnathan Bartholomew with 277.

In the 3D competition Washington finished fourth out of six teams with a score of 1654. Braden Duwa had the highest Demon score with 288 to finish second out of 42 high school boys. Other top scoring included Alexis Ide with 285, Anna Miller with 278, Samantha Mellinger with 276, Cooper Reed with 265, and Kylee Porter with 262.

The Demons will next be in action Saturday hosting a tournament.
