Drought conditions in Iowa lessened from last week to this week by about four percent.

Currently 41.6% of Iowa is abnormally dry and 12.2% is in moderate drought. The drought conditions stretch across the southeastern half of the state. Washington County is mostly in moderate drought, with the upper northeast third abnormally dry. In the first three weeks of February Washington received just over two inches of precipitation, more than double the normal amount for that time period.
