A 70-year tradition is being recognized this week as it is National FFA Week.

The club’s mission is “to make a positive difference in the lives of youth by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.” The Washington High School FFA chapter works throughout the year to advance leadership and educational experiences, including teaching farm safety at elementary schools, donating and packaging toys for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child, and package Meals from the Heartland. Chapter members will be meeting Friday morning at the Washington Hy-Vee for breakfast and will fill the parking lot with tractors.
