There have been 126 influenza-associated deaths in Iowa this flu season, none have been pediatric.

In the recent reporting week there were 125 influenza-associated hospitalizations in the state. Influenza activity is still high across the state. Sixty-three schools reported 10% or greater absence due to illness, including two in Henry County and one in Johnson County.

Washington County Public Health Nurse Lynn Fisher reminds people to stay home when they’re ill to prevent the spread of illness, including school, work, and running errands. She also recommends washing your hands frequently, and covering your coughs and sneezes with either a tissue or in your elbow.
