The Highland Robotics team the Finger Tightans have advanced after competing at the FIRST Tech Challenge-Iowa Championship last weekend.

The Finger Tightans won the Think Award, the second highest award given, and have advanced to the North Super-Regional Championship Tournament.

Sophomore Matt Butler describes the Think Award, which they have previously received in this competition season, “The Think Award is all about documentation, so another big aspect is not only building a super cool robot but also documenting everything that you do. [It] gets you that real-world experience of making sure you write everything down, so they understand what happened.”

The Finger Tightans were one of 13 teams to advance from the state tournament where 48 teams competed. They will now be competing to advance to the World Championships at the North Super-Regional Championship Tournament March 15-17 in Cedar Rapids.
