The Highland and Sigourney-Keota wrestling teams competed in regionals on Tuesday night at Don Bosco.

The Huskies started out playing the No. 1 ranked Dons and fell 72-9. The Huskies had two winners in the dual including Cullen Klebe at 126 lbs by fall in 40 seconds and Cael Yeggy at 170 lbs by a 7-2 decision.

The Cobras faced off with Cascade in the first round and moved on with a 54-30 win. Out of eight contested matches the Cobras won five of them all by fall. Winners included Nick Ives at 138 lbs in 46 seconds, Trent Hendricks at 145 lbs in 41 seconds, Zech Boender at 152 lbs in 20 seconds, Nate Schuster at 170 lbs in 3:15, and Kaleb Reeves at 220 lbs in 25 seconds.

Sigourney-Keota then faced off with Don Bosco for state on the line and fell 70-12. The Cobras had two winners including Ives at 138 lbs by fall in 1:25 and Reeves at 220 lbs by fall in 32 seconds.

Individuals from both teams will get back on the mat Saturday for districts.
