The Iowa Mennonite School boys basketball team begins the tournament trail tonight when they host the Holy Trinity Catholic Crusaders in the first round of the class 1A district tournament.

IMS enters play with an 18-3 overall record. They had their nine game winning streak snapped last time out Friday when they fell to No. 12 New London 73-50 in the Final Four of the Southeast Iowa Superconference Shoot Out. Cole Ours led the way with 15 points on five three point goals. On the season, Ours leads IMS averaging 14 points per game, 10th in the Southeast Iowa Superconference. Caleb Gingerich has the team lead with 69 assists seventh in the Superconference. Mitchell Schmeider is best on the team with 153 rebounds seventh in the league.

Holy Trinity Catholic enters play tonight with an overall record of 5-17. They were winners in their opening round playoff game Tuesday 60-50 over Winfield-Mt. Union, behind 17 points and 12 rebounds from Quentin Schneider. On the year the Crusaders are led by Reed Fehseke at 13 points per game. Matt Helige has the team lead with 44 assists. Schneider has the team lead and is fifth in the Superconference South with 143 rebounds.
