The new Kalona Chamber of Commerce president has been appointed.

Former Vice President Alvin Kramer was appointed to serve as president at the Chamber’s February meeting. Kramer is filling a vacancy left by Justin Schrock, who was appointed in October 2017 and resigned January 22.

Kramer comments on the future of the Chamber, “Looking at how we can best serve all the businesses of Kalona would be our biggest goal right now. We’ve been more geared toward tourism and we’d like to see what we can do for our service-based businesses as well.”

Kramer will serve out the rest of a one or two year term, yet to be determined by the Chamber board. He says he feels prepared for this role and appreciates the thought and effort put forth by Chamber members.
