A concert series and a movie series were two of seven recipients of hotel/motel tax grants from the City of Riverside.

The city council approved a $5,000 grant to the Riverside Area Community Club (RACC) for a movie series in Hall Park this summer. Trekfest Executive Director Kevin Meller says the club plans on hosting five movie nights, and the grant will go towards licensing costs of showing the films. Their movie ideas include a sports-themed film, a Despicable Me film, and a Marvel film. A $5,000 grant is going to RACC for a concert series that will also occur at Hall Park aside from Trekfest, with four concerts expected. RACC also received a $7,000 grant for the 2019 Trekfest fireworks display and $18,800 for Trekfest. The Riverside Museum and History Center received $20,000, PAWS & More Animal Shelter received $2,500, and Washington County YMCA received $10,000 for Camp Highland. The grants total $68,300 and are for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.
