A man died at a construction site in Columbus Junction Friday afternoon. According to the Columbus Junction Police Department, at 2:52 p.m. it was discovered that a cave-in had occurred in downtown Columbus Junction. Anthony Hills, 52-years-old, had been working on sewer repairs at the time and was killed in the event. Hills was the owner operator of Hills Construction. Agencies that assisted at the scene include Columbus Junction Police Department, Columbus Junction Fire Department, the City of Wapello Maintenance Department, Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Louisa County Ambulance, Louisa County Emergency Management, and fire departments from Wapello, Conesville, and Washington.

An OSHA investigation was conducted Saturday and KCII News will provide more information once that is released.
