The Washington Public Library is looking for a new director.

Current director Debbie Stanton and her family have decided to move out of state to be closer to family, “It’s all about family. And as soon as I say that then everyone who was mad at us is like, ‘Okay.’ Anyone who is a grandparent says, ‘Okay.’ Because we are moving to be closer to Ben’s parents, my husband’s parents, who live in Topeka, Kansas. So they get a chance to have some real time with the grandkids and get to watch them grow up, and we get to be closer to family.” Stanton says the job opening will be posted for a month and applicants will be reviewed. She adds that she hopes to keep seeing programs expand, and partnerships with area non-profits and organizations keep growing.
