The New London Tigers snapped the Iowa Mennonite boys basketball team’s nine game winning streak Friday with a 73-50 win at Ruble Arena at Iowa Wesleyan in the Southeast Iowa Superconference Shoot Out.

In a game heard on AM and FM KCII, the Tigers raced out of the gate, putting together an 11-0 run in the first quarter to take a 22-6 lead into the second. IMS got within seven on a 9-0 run of their own but after a New London burst still found themselves down 36-24 at half. In the third quarter, Iowa Mennonite cut the lead to eight points on three separate occasions but could not get any closer. New London answered the final IMS push with a 10-0 run and were not threatened the rest of the night. IMS was led by Cole Ours with 15 points as he connected on five three pointers. IMS is now 18-3 on the year, New London improves to 17-4.
