Efforts to secure $10,000 in donations to bring a traveling September 11th memorial and exhibit to Washington are approaching the goal quickly.

Carol Horning who is organizing the effort spoke at the recent Washington City Council meeting and said the mobile museum will be in Washington this summer and she is close to her goal. The council approved a $250 cash donation at their meeting, as well as an in kind donation to have police and fire department staff escort it into town. The exhibit travels by semi and is fully ADA compliant and air conditioned. The tours of the exhibit are guided by New York City Firefighters. It will be in Washington July 15, 16, and 17, as part of the Washington County Fair.
