The Winfield-Mt. Union girls basketball team starts the tournament trail tonight class 1A when they host the New London Tigers.

WMU comes into the matchup with an overall record of 10-11. The Wolves topped Burlington Notre Dame in the Superconference Shoot out Friday 43-37 behind 15 points from Lexee Hartsock and 14 from Karley Schlee. On the year, Hartsock leads the Wolves scoring 15 points per game, fifth in the Superconference. Schlee is best on the team and ninth in the conference with 54 assists. Allie McArtor has pulled down a team best 207 rebounds, second most in the Superconference.

New London enters play with an overall record of 2-19. In the Superconference Shoot Out Friday they topped Columbus 39-30 behind 11 points from Kara Krieger. On the season the Tigers are led by Breanna Mettler at eight points per game. Marah Hartick leads the Tigers with 21 assists. Alexa Wenger leads New London and is eighth in the Superconference with 120 rebounds.

These teams met in January with WMU taking a 66-44 win. Action begins tonight at seven at Winfield-Mt. Union High School.
