The votes have been counted and the new member of the Washington School Board is James Almelien.

The other candidates were Dana McDole, and Lori Orris. Almelien received 176 votes, McDole had 152 votes, and Orris had 31 votes. The seat was vacated in January by Kate Glinsmann due to personal health reasons. Almelien will join the board soon, and will take part in the selection of a new superintendent, as current superintendent Jeff Dicks announced his resignation effective the end of the school year earlier this month.
