Taxes will not increase in the City of Washington as the council passed their annual budget at their regular meeting Tuesday night.

Mayor Jaron Rosien thanks the council members and staff who worked on the budget, saying what the city will be using, “The same levy through careful planning and every effort at responsible spending.” The tax levy rate per $1,000 valuation on regular property is $15.82079 and for agricultural land it is $3.00375 for the fiscal year that runs July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019.
