Two public highway easements and a change to the five-year road plan was approved Tuesday by the Washington County Board of Supervisors.

Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius explained the work is for box culverts on Orange Avenue over Camp Creek. He said the change to the plan was needed because they’re able to let the project out to bid a month earlier than expected, which changes the fiscal year in which the project begins. The easements were from Norman and Marie Shalla at two locations; one is for $2,287.82 for 0.35 total acres, and the other is $7,930.28 for 1.72 total acres. Thorius said they use the CSR acre rate for figuring the dollar amount so it’s a uniform rate.
