The Washington Demon boys track and field team opens their season tonight when they host the Demon Indoor Meet at Cornell College in Mount Vernon.

This meet serves as a showcase for the best boys track athletes in the state with a field that boasts schools from all four classes. Washington is coming off of a 2017 season that saw Caleb Bex qualify for the state meet in Des Moines in the 110 hurdles.

This is the second straight day that the Washington track programs are hosting an indoor track meet at the Cornell facility with the girls taking the stage yesterday.

Joining the Demons today are area schools Columbus and Highland along with Cedar Rapids Xavier, Ames, Anamosa, Burlington, Carlisle, Cedar Rapids Washington, Central DeWitt, Clear Creek Amana, Davenport Central, Des Moines Roosevelt, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Iowa City City High, Iowa City Liberty, Iowa City Regina, Iowa City West, Keokuk, Linn-Mar, Mount Pleasant, North Scott, Ottumwa, Pleasant Valley, Waukee, West Burlington, West Liberty and Williamsburg. Action begins tonight at 4p.m. at Cornell College.
