The Washington Demon, Highland Huskies and Columbus Wildcats were all on the track for the first time this season Friday at the Washington Demon Indoor Meet hosted at Cornell College in Mount Vernon.

Ethan Hunt had a big day for the Demons, posting the highest finish of any area athlete, taking third place in the 400m dash in 54.31 seconds. Hunt also was 13th in the 200. Other top finishes for the Demons included Spencer Sotelo eighth in the long jump, Lincoln Kleese was 13th. Sotelo was also 34th in the 200m. Brennan Horak was 10th in the 1600m, Evan Horak was 23rd in the same event. Wyatt Stout and Ben Schiefer each finished 14th in the high jump. Cade Hennigan was 24th in the 60m hurdles. Tanner Murphy was 25th in the 60m dash, Mario Tapia was 28th, Trevor Quigley 35th and Luke Turner 42nd, Turner was also 28th in the 200m. Mark Engelken and Colin Murphy took 39th in the shot put, Marshall Patterson was 47th in the shot put. Brandon Dickel finished 41st in the 400, Michael Kimball was 43rd in the same event. Jameson Bell took 47th in the 200 and Ryan Ellis was 51st in the 1600m.

In relay events the Demon distance medley team of Jarrett Bender, Wyatt Stout, Roy Carter and Justin Simmering were 23rd, the 4×400 team of Kiowa Keith, Evan Horak, Brennan Horak and Ben Schiefer was 24th.

Top finish for the Columbus Wildcats came from Tommy Pretz in the long jump taking sixth with a leap of 18’4.75″. Other finishes for Columbus include Abel Mena 21st in the 200m, Cody Fox 33rd in the shot put, Bryan Solis was 68th in the same event. Felix Solis 34th in the 60m dash, Angel Hernandez was 41st in the same event. Jaime Villegas was 39th in the 200m, Johnny Espinosa was 39th in the 400m, Marc Estrada took 44th in the 1600m, Jose Cerezo was 45th in the 400, and Jesus Medrano 49th in the 1600m.

In relay events the Columbus 4×400 team of Chance Colby, Kevin Rodriguez, Will Schwab and Tucker Bright finished 25th and the Wildcats 4×800 teams of Marc Estrada, Will Schwab, Tucker Bright and Jesus Jimenez, along with the team of Jesus Medrano, Bryce Carrier, Johnny Espinosa and Kevin Rodriguez were 33rd and 36th respectively.

Top finish for the Highland Huskies came from the 4×400 relay team of Jarett Brown, Isaac Black, Bryce Waters and Bryan Redlinger taking 23rd. The Highland distance medley team of Samuel Davis, Mason McFarland, Mitchell and Mason Manley were 25th.

In individual events Isaac Black was 25th in the 400, Mason Manley was 35th, Zack Lasek finished 29th in the shot put, Bradley Rodgers were 37th while Sam Smith was 71st. Bryan Redlinger took 48th in the 1600, Jacob Roling was 52nd, Mitchell Manley was 49th in the 200, Jarett Brown was 52nd. In the 60m dash Bryce Waters finished 51st.
