The Washington, Winfield-Mt. Union and WACO girls track teams were in action for the first time during the outdoor season Tuesday night when they traveled to West Burlington for the Falcon Relays.

Washington had the top area finish, taking third place in the Class A division with 112 points. Mount Pleasant won Class A with 167 points. The Demons had three event championships on the night led by Hannah Anderson winning gold in the 100 with a time of 13.02 seconds. Anderson also won the long jump title with a leap of 16’5.25″.  The Demon 4×200 team was a winner with Leah Marek, Ashley Telleen, Anna Nacos and Jenah Greiner winning the event in 1:55.71. Other top finishes for Washington included Anderson second in the 200, Ashley Telleen second in the 400m hurdles, a runner-up finish for the 4×100 team of Marek, Greiner, Nacos and Anderson, a runner-up finish for the 4×800 team of Molly Sparks, Alivia Emry, Brooke Stout and Claire Horak, a runner-up finish for the sprint medley team of Nacos, Trinia Griffin, Marek and Telleen, a third place finish for the 4×400 team of Leah Marek, Brynn Beenblossom, Horak and Greiner, third place for Emry in the 800 and third for Greiner in the long jump.

Winfield-Mt. Union was fifth of six teams in the Class B division with 69 points. The Wolves scored three championships on the night with Cecilia Hemsworth bringing home the title in the 800 with a time of 2:40.16. Kyndal Townsley took the 100 hurdles in 18.09 seconds and the shuttle hurdle team of Kayla Edwards, Jami Wilkerson, Ali Cockerham and Kyndal Townsley won gold in 1:17.76. Other top finishes for the Wolves included Ali McArtor second in the 400 hurdles and Molly Miller second in the discus.

WACO finished sixth in Class B with 57 points. Top finishes for the Warriors included a second place run for Molly McLaughlin in the 100m hurdles, runner-up for the 4×200 team of Kaylee Shelman, Aubri Garnsey, Laney Graber and Grace Conwell, and a runner-up finish for the shuttle hurdle team of McLaughlin, Garnsey, Conwell and Graber. Conwell was third in the 200, Garnsey took third in the long jump and Mariah Boone was third in the 400m hurdles.
