Approximately 5.21% of those who reside in the Washington School District cast ballots in Tuesday’s special election.
James Almelien was selected from three candidates to fill the vacant seat on the Washington School Board, he received 176 votes. In total 360 people voted, 78 of which were absentee ballots. Last September, during the school board election for the Washington School District 10.65% of the voters cast ballots, or 732 people – more than double Tuesday’s turnout.
