Iowa Mennonite School’s Suzanna Yoder used every game, every minute of the 2017-18 season to reach the 1,000 point milestone during her junior year.

Yoder, as clutch as they come, accomplished the feat in fitting fashion; a late fourth quarter, game tying three point field goal in a 49-44 loss against undefeated No. 3 ranked North Mahaska in the regional semifinal round of the Class 1A playoffs.

Yoder started her trek to 1,000 on November 24th, 2015, as a freshman, she scored two points against Mediapolis on the road in a 63-16 loss. She ended her freshman campaign with 172 points. In her sophomore season she more than doubled that output, ending with 342 points. Yoder hit the 500 point mark during that season in a thrilling 51-48 overtime playoff loss to HLV where she went for 25 points. In her recently concluded junior season she finished with 489 total points including a state best 22.2 points per game average and set a new career high of 32 points in a January loss to Mediapolis.

Yoder will make a run at the all-time IMS record during her senior season, currently held by 1999 graduate Angela Bock at 1,743 points.
