Those interested in attracting North America’s largest swallow, the Purple Martin, are welcome to attend the 13th Annual Purple Martin Workshop/Seminar.

The workshop will include presentations from Iowa Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Biologist Chad Dolan and Washington resident Adam Todd on “Turtles of Iowa,” a presentation on creating wildlife habitat, and a presentation from Jim Walters of the Songbird Project on “Purple Martins: The Short Vision and the Long Vision.” There will also be a panel discussion, an auction, and vendors. There is a $2 registration fee and children 10 and under are free. The Purple Martin Workshop/Seminar takes place Saturday (3/17) starting at 8 a.m. at the CAM Iowa Clothing Center north of Kalona.
