The Southeast Iowa Superconference has named Wapello basketball standout Trenton Massner as their Player of the Year.

Massner, a senior, led the Superconference and was fourth in class 2A scoring 22.5 points per game. His 182 assists were best in the conference and second most in the state. Massner’s 71 steals were fifth most in the state, and led the conference. He also pulled down 179 rebounds, seventh most in the Superconference. He was third in the conference in shooting percentage at 61% for those who had taken more than 100 shots. His 45% from three point range was best in the conference and 10th in the state among those who attempt at least 50 three point goals. He was part of a Wapello team that won the Superconference North Division Title, the Superconference Shoot Out Championship, set a new school record with 23 wins and advanced to the state tournament for the first time since 1994.
