The Mid-Prairie High School students, staff, and community will have to wait until next fall to enjoy coffee and treats at the library coffee shop.

The high school library renovation was anticipated to be completed by April, but Superintendent Mark Schneider explains, “We originally thought that, but then when we got the contractors involved and looked at what we wanted to do with the plumbing and electrical, and the new cabinets and flooring, and things like that, it got a little more complicated than what can be handled during the [school] week.”

Schneider says they look forward to completing the renovation during the summer. Mid-Prairie received a $95,188 Washington County Riverboat Foundation grant last fall to transform the office portion of the high school library into a coffee shop, giving job skill opportunities to special education students.
