All of Washington County is experiencing drought conditions at this time, including the southern half in moderate drought.

According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, just over 10% of Iowa is in moderate drought and 21.22% is abnormally dry. The dry areas are in southeast and south central Iowa. All of Jefferson and Henry Counties are in moderate drought. Keokuk County is similar to Washington County currently with areas of moderate drought and abnormally dry conditions.
