When severe thunderstorm warnings or tornado warnings are issued for Washington County listen to KCII for live coverage of the storm.

Washington County Emergency Management Coordinator Marissa Reisen recommends signing up for weather alerts, like the WENS – Wireless Emergency Notification System. Through the WENS Washington County staff will send emergency notifications to your phone by text message or phone call. For registration information click here.

Once you receive a notification for a severe thunderstorm warning or a tornado warning for any part of Washington County, listen to KCII for all of the information. We’ll interrupt regular programming to bring you up to the minute information of the storm on AM and FM KCII, KCIIRadio.com, and on our mobile apps. KCII will also send out direct notifications to all of those who have downloaded our App. These will go directly to your mobile device as a text message that the KCII Severe Weather action team is live on the air, with a link to join the coverage. If the power goes out, we’ll still be on air with our back-up generators.
