A $3.7 million road improvement project will begin on Riverside Road Monday.

The Washington County Engineer’s Office has announced Riverside Road will be closed starting Monday from G36 to G26, and from Spruce Avenue north into Riverside. Traffic will be detoured around using Highway 22, Highway 1 and 220th Street. Work will include resurfacing and widening the existing pavement, and paving a portion of the shoulders. Surface Transportation Program, Farm to Market, and Traffic Safety Improvement Program grant dollars are paying for the project. The goal is to make the road safer and improve traffic flow. The project is scheduled to be completed by July.
