Efforts to fund a new communications building for Washington County dispatch and 911 services are underway.

While the communications equipment itself is considered essential by code, the building in which to put it is not, so funding avenues differ. The supervisors considered a resolution to apply for a Washington County Riverboat Foundation grant to help cover the building costs at their meeting Monday. The motion was approved unanimously by roll call vote. The proposals for equipment are due this month and costs will be better known at that time.
