Construction on the Kaufman Athletic Training and Fitness Center at WACO High School is causing some changes for traffic around the campus.

WACO officials are encouraging as little public traffic as possible at the north entrance of the school, as contractors will be using that entrance. Visitors, staff, and students are asked to use the main entrance off of North Pearl Street, and to utilize the furthest east parking lot first. The south entrance on Cummings Street will close at a later date for the duration of the project. Parking will be impacted as little as possible during WACO home track events, and the area surrounding the new facility will be fenced and secured for the safety of the public. The 9,000 square foot center is expected to open at the start of the 2018-2019 school year.
