With 309.1992 bushels per acre, Tom Vittetoe of Washington is being recognized by the National Corn Growers Association.

In the 2017 National Corn Yield Contest Vittetoe placed second in the state in the AA no-till/strip-till non-irrigated class. The hybrid used in the field was a Pioneer. He was one of 426 state winners. The average yield among national winners was more than 386 bushels per acre, above the projected 2017 U.S. Average of 175.4 bushels per acre.
