Five operational sharing agreements were approved by the Washington School Board Wednesday.

Currently, Washington and WACO school districts share a superintendent and current superintendent Jeff Dicks explained he’d received a question pertaining to this since they are now searching to fill that role, “What about the WACO superintendent sharing? So, we kind of put out there that it’s contingent upon finding the right person. So, I think we can approve these and make that contingent upon suitable replacement.” The board approved the agreement contingent upon the superintendent candidate that is selected. Business Manager Jeff Dieleman explained the board has until May to terminate that agreement if so desired.

Washington will share a business manager and maintenance director with Keota and superintendent, maintenance director, and transportation director with WACO. Operational sharing was extended in the state legislature, allowing districts to share such positions and save funds.
