The Washington Economic Development Group, or WEDG, will be hiring a new director.

Current director Ed Raber has announced his resignation to take another position in northeastern Iowa. Raber has served the Washington County area for 21 years. Raber said, “Washington County’s economy has been trending upward this century, with more jobs, more people, and more retail sales. It has been an honor to work with the businesses, communities, and organizations that have a vision for growth and a high quality of life.”

The officers of WEDG are in beginning discussions of hiring a new director this spring. WEDG was formed in 1986 as a 501c(6) non-profit organization with the mission to create and promote an environment for economic development.
