On Thursday the Washington Demon boy’s soccer team rebounded from Wednesday loss to Fairfield. The Demons beat the Highland Huskies 9 to 0 at Washington High School.

This game belonged to the Demons from the start as Anthony Torres scored his first of two just over a minute into the game. The Huskies tried to keep it close, but in the 27th minute Zach Stout hit a bicycle kick that went flying by the Huskies goalie to make the score 2-0. Caleb Suchan scored his first of three goals on the day in the 34th minute to push the lead to 3-0 and that’s where it stood at the halftime break.

In the second half the Demons kept the pressure on Huskies scoring six more times including Caleb Suchan’s second and third goals of the game. Suchan’s second goal came on a beautiful pass from Anthony Torres that led to a breakaway. Suchan then capped off his hat trick by sneaking one past the goalie left foot to make the score 8-0. Other Demons to score were Thomas Zimmer, Brandon Stephanie.
The Demon’s next game is against Iowa City Liberty at the Coralville Youth Sports Complex. Kick off is at 4:30 Monday.
