Thursday the Mid-Prairie boys soccer team gave top ten ranked Benton all they wanted in Wellman with the Bobcats scoring a golden goal win in the second overtime to take the match 3-2.
The Hawks saw Zeus Fugate continue to stay hot, he had both tallies for Mid-Prairie, with Ashton VanWinkle providing both assists. The Golden Hawks rode that combo to a 2-1 lead at the half. In the second half the Bobcats locked things down defensively, and got their own offense going late, coming up with the equalizer in the 67th minute and the game winner on a scramble in the box in the second overtime. Beau Stutzman led the Golden Hawk defense with nine saves. With the loss, Mid-Prairie falls to 2-3 on the year, they will face Danville Monday.
