A construction management contract has been approved for a new Washington County Communications Center.

At Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting a contract was approved with Carl A. Nelson and Company, and supervisor Jack Seward shared what the contract is for preconstruction, “This is the contract between a manager and the county. And the manager is going to assist us in the activities leading up to a bid document ready to go out.” The county will pay Carl A. Nelson and Company $15,000 for their services.

The county is currently reviewing proposals for new emergency communications equipment, which will then be housed in the new facility. The current dispatch center was originally a house and jail and was built in the 1960s.
