Drought conditions continue across southern Iowa.

According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, drought conditions remained the same from last week to this week. Currently 7.6% of Iowa is in moderate drought and 18.5% is abnormally dry. The southern halves of Washington and Keokuk Counties are abnormally dry, as is all of Henry County. The southwest third of Jefferson County is in moderate drought and the rest is abnormally dry. At this time last year, less than 5% of the state was abnormally dry.
