Five area teams traveled to Mapleleaf Athletic Complex in Mount Pleasant yesterday to compete in the Denny White Relays.


Mid-Prairie finished seventh with a total score of 80. The Mount Pleasant Panthers won the relays with the score of 158.5. The Golden Hawks had individual championships from Marshall Teets in the 800 with a time of 2:04.90. Floyd Evans in the 1600 with time of 4:32.55. Peyton Miller 400-meter hurdles 57.10. Kyle Miller high jump 6’00”. 4×800 relay team of Floyd Evans, Marshall Teets, Cary Schaefer, and Zach Pettit 8:10.62

Lone Tree finished 10th with a score of 63.5. The Lions top finishers were runners-up in the 400-meter hurdles Ty Griffin and the 4×800 meter relay team of Brady Dauber, Keegan Edwards, Harmon Miller, and Brock Smith. Brady Dauber added 3rd place finishes in the 400-meter dash and the long jump.

Washington finished 12th with the score of 54. The Demons top finishers were the runners-up in the 800 sprint medley relay team of Mario Tapia, Tanner Murphy, Sawyer Whisler and Ethan Hunt. Hunt also had a 3rd in the 400 hurdles and helped the 4×200 relay team of Tapia, Murphy, and Whisler to a 4th place finish. Cade Pouren finished 4th in the 200.

Winfield-Mount Union finished 17th with a score of 37.5. Brandon Snowden finished 2nd in the 100 and 400. Brody Barth finished 3rd in the 3200 and 4th in the 1600.

WACO finished 21st with a score of 25. The Warriors top finishes were a 3rd place from the 4×100 relay team of Calvin Battle Jr. Elijah McGohan, Drew Kissell, and Colton Horak. Horak also had a 4th place in 110 hurdles. McGohan had a 5th in the 400.

Washington, Winfield-Mount Union, Columbus, and Lone Tree, are traveling to Wapello on Friday.
